The company uses electricity generated from renewable sources and needs a battery storage system with a capacity of 23 MWh to compensate for fluctuating production. Some of these are to be installed in forklift trucks following their use in the storage system (&#8220;zero life&#8221;) whilst others will not be suitable for this. Therefore, both the battery storage system and the software will need to integrate different battery types and maintain the efficiency of the zero-life batteries through regular charging. At the same time, the system will need to manage both first- and second-life batteries. Some zero-life batteries could find subsequent use as first-life batteries in vehicles, whereas second-life batteries, after many charging and discharging processes, are suitable for stationary applications. The TRICERA Flex battery storage management system (BMS) solves this challenge.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=&#8221;herausforderung&#8221;]\n<h6>Solution<\/h6>\n<p>To be able to manage the different batteries according to their specific condition, TRICERA has used a panel-based design in which the individual batteries are easily accessible and can be installed and removed during operations as required. The TRICERA Flex BMS controls each of the installed batteries in a targeted manner and monitors each of them separately. This enables JT Energy Systems to utilise the battery storage system in an extremely efficient manner.
